The Family Power-Outage Kit
Everything a household of four needs to stay powered, fed, and steady through a two-to-three day blackout.
This is the kit we’d build for a typical family facing the most common emergency there is: the lights going out for a couple of days. None of it is extreme, just the stuff that turns a stressful blackout into an adventure the kids might actually enjoy.
Start with a power station to keep the fridge cold and the phones alive, add a water filter in case of a boil-water notice, and round it out with flashlights, a few days of easy food, and a battery or hand-crank radio.
